Sandalwood Genuine

Extrait: Sandalwood Genuine
Production: Steam distillation from mature heartwood of santalum album.
Origin: Mysore
Use in Perfumery: A soft sweet warm woody balsamic and slightly fruity base note. Hugely versatile and without a doubt by far the best wood oil available if you can get a reliable quality. One of a few outstanding fixatives and oils used for blending in many perfume types. Indispensible.
Safety: Normal usage
Comment: Improves with age in a tincture or in its natural state. We lay some down every year. People are accustomed to paying high prices for absolutes but resist the price of genuine sandalwood. It priced itself out of commercial perfumery years ago but remains one of the most useful of all perfume materials. As such we believe that it is worth every penny.
